In a lighthearted social media post, former Nigerian federal lawmaker Shehu Sani commented on the physical fitness of his former Senate colleagues. Sani’s remarks come after footage emerged showing moments when Kenyan protesters set fire to the parliament, stole its mace, and forced panicked Members of the Parliament to flee on Tuesday as worsening political unrest threatened to tip one of Africa’s most peaceful states into anarchy.
According to Punch, several people were killed and hundreds injured as thousands of demonstrators stormed Kenya’s parliament to protest a controversial tax bill, demanding the resignation of President William Ruto.
While Sani acknowledged that former Senate President Bukola Saraki would be physically capable of running, he expressed doubts about the abilities of current Senate President Ahmad Lawan and Senator Godswill Akpabio. Sani also joked that Senator Dino Melaye could jump and climb trees, while Senator Ben Murray-Bruce would be limited to a catwalk.
The former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, posted, “When I watched the Kenyan Senators running, I know that Saraki is physically fitted to run but I’m not sure of Senators Lawan and Akpabio. Dino can jump and Climb tree but Ben Bruce can only do Catwalk.”…..Sēe Morē
