The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has launched a fresh criticism against former presidential candidate Peter Obi, accusing him of lacking commitment to building a strong political party structure.
Morka made the remarks during an appearance on Sunday Politics, a programme on Channels Television, while reacting to the recent gathering of opposition leaders in Ibadan, Oyo State.
In his comments, Morka alleged that Obi has consistently moved between political platforms in search of opportunities that would allow him secure presidential tickets without facing internal competition. Referring to the opposition summit held in Ibadan, Morka expressed disappointment over what he described as a missed opportunity for meaningful engagement on national issues. He suggested that the meeting could have served as a platform for outlining strategies and solutions to Nigeria’s pressing challenges.
“When they huddled together in that hall in Ibadan, you’d think they’d spend time to talk about themselves and the plans they have for Nigeria. But yet again… they continued to obsess over the APC,” he added.
Morka further weighed in on the internal crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), attributing its current challenges to decisions made during the 2023 presidential election cycle. He specifically referenced the role of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, suggesting that his actions contributed significantly to the party’s ongoing instability.
