According to IRNA News Agency, Lebanese Grand Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan warned that the Zionist regime should prepare for a barrage of approximately half a million missiles in the event of a full-scale conflict. Qabalan’s declaration underscores the high stakes and potential for extensive destruction if hostilities escalate.

Speaking on Sunday, Qabalan emphasized the profound impact such a missile assault would have, suggesting it would set Israel back by 70 years. His comments come amid rising tensions on Lebanon’s southern front, where clashes between Israeli forces and Lebanese groups have intensified. Qabalan framed the current hostilities as crucial to Lebanon’s regional interests and survival.

“The Resistance is the cornerstone of Lebanon’s survival and future,” Qabalan asserted, linking Lebanon’s sovereignty and strategic deterrence directly to the capabilities of its armed resistance. He argued that without the deterrence provided by groups like Hezbollah, Lebanon’s national and regional interests would be at risk.

Qabalan’s statement highlights the complex dynamics at play in the region, where the balance of power often hinges on military capabilities and strategic deterrence. He stressed that Lebanon’s national arsenal and the strength of its resistance forces are vital to maintaining the country’s sovereignty and protecting its interests.

Adding to the gravity of Qabalan’s remarks, Kadhim al-Fartousi, spokesman for the Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada anti-terror resistance group, pledged his group’s support to Hezbollah in any full-blown war. Al-Fartousi warned that any aggressive move by Israel would lead to severe consequences, vowing that Israeli forces would face a grim fate if they opted for conflict.
