U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has voiced strong frustration over what he described as Europe’s reluctance to support efforts to secure the critical Strait of Hormuz amid escalating tensions with Iran.

In a statement shared on his verified social media account, Graham revealed that he had a direct conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the issue. According to him, the president expressed deep anger over the stance taken by European allies.

“I have never heard him so angry in my life,” Graham said, adding that he shares the president’s frustration given the global stakes involved.

The senator criticized European nations for what he described as an unwillingness to contribute military or logistical support to keep the vital maritime corridor open. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important oil transit routes, through which a significant portion of global energy supplies pass daily.

Graham argued that the stability of the waterway benefits Europe more than the United States, making their hesitation particularly troubling.

He also took aim at what he described as a dismissive attitude among some European leaders toward Iran’s nuclear ambitions. According to him, suggestions that a nuclear-armed Iran is not a major concern are “beyond offensive.”

“The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions has proven to be a miserable failure,” he stated.

The senator warned that the consequences of limited cooperation could be severe, not only for Europe but also for the United States, as disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz could impact global oil markets and economic stability.

Graham further suggested that the current situation is forcing him to reassess the value of long-standing alliances.

“At a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances,” he said, noting that other lawmakers may share similar concerns. Read_More…
