In a bold and direct statement during an interview on Journalist Hangout aired by TVC News, Dr. Nicolas Felix, the youngest APC presidential aspirant in the 2023 elections, dismissed former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi as lacking the leadership ability required to govern Nigeria.

Speaking on the recent wave of coalition talks ahead of the 2027 general elections, Felix questioned the credibility and competence of the opposition figures involved, especially Peter Obi, who emerged as a major contender in the 2023 polls.

“Are we talking about Peter Obi? Peter Obi has no capacity; I’ll tell you the truth,” Felix declared, accusing the former Anambra State governor of mismanaging the Labour Party and failing to provide strategic leadership after the 2023 elections.

Felix argued that Obi’s inability to consolidate his party’s gains from the last election was proof of his limitations as a national leader. “He brought life into the Labour Party during the 2023 campaign. They won a few senatorial and gubernatorial seats. But look at the party now—it’s falling apart right in front of him, and he’s done nothing to salvage it,” he said.

He stressed that effective national leadership requires more than popularity or campaign momentum. “If you cannot manage a small political party, how can you manage a country as complex as Nigeria?” Felix asked.

The APC chieftain described the emerging coalition—reportedly including Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, and Nasir El-Rufai—as an alliance built on frustration and personal disappointment rather than a shared vision for national development.

He emphasized that the ruling party remains focused on delivering results under President Bola Tinubu, pointing to reforms such as the student loan program, increased federal revenue, and infrastructural investments as key achievements. “We are rolling out real progress. These people, they have nothing to offer but recycled anger,” he said.

Felix concluded by reiterating that President Tinubu’s performance would speak for itself in 2027, assuring Nigerians that the APC is ready to confront opposition narratives with facts and results.
