NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi has said he remains committed to his pursuit of political change despite the challenges and pressure he claims to face in the course of his political activities.
Speaking in a video from 9:30 posted on Advocacy for Good Governance on Friday, August 28, 2026, Obi urged Nigerians who desire change to remain committed to the process, saying he has no intention of backing down despite the difficulties he encounters.
According to him, “I urge all of you, if you really want change, we’ve just begun. We just have to continue to where we are. If I tell people and I say every day what I go through, you’ll ask me, ‘Why are you still in this thing? Why are you still doing this? Why do you still have to bother?’ But I’m in it. And I don’t intend to change.”
Obi alleged that government agencies and other state institutions frequently mention his name even when he is not contesting an election.
He added, “You see, every now and then, you see agencies of government, tools of government, even when I’m not running in an election, calling me names every day. They now organize town hall meetings just for me.”
