In this interview with The Punch, the founder and pioneer National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Ralph Nwosu, explained that prior to the current developments, the party had experienced internal challenges, which he attributed to Dumebi Kachikwu.
When asked whether the individual was causing problems and what firm measures were taken to address the situation, he responded by explaining the steps the party implemented to handle it.
He said, “During our convention, he was expelled. And our party was free to adopt the Labour Party presidential candidate during the election proper. He was expelled. Those who know Dumebi Kachikwu will know he is just looking to play a destructive game.”
He stated that the individual in question was no longer a member of the party but seemed to believe that his status as a former presidential candidate remained valid. He noted that the person still appeared on television claiming to be the party’s presidential candidate, despite having taken the party’s ticket and, in his view, attempted to damage the party.
He added that the individual’s candidacy had since expired and was not effectively utilised, arguing that the progress made by the party had been turned into personal gain rather than contributing to nation-building.
He further remarked that people like Dumebi Kachikwu and Bala Nafiu had, unfortunately, become victims of the situation, insisting that much of the narrative was being shaped by the ruling party and amplified by the media. Read_More…
