Paul Ibe, the senior special adviser on media to the former vice president of Nigeria and Elderstateman, Waziri Atiku Abubakar has voiced his displeasure over what he believed was selective justice in the case involving former Kaduna State governor, Nasiru El-Rufai.
According to a post shared on his official X account on Wednesday August 12th, 2026 he pointed out that the former governor had been in detention for over one hundred and seventy days while an APC lawmaker, Senator Francis Fadahunsi was allowed to walk freely.
His comments came amid the public backlash that trailed the actions of the federal lawmaker whom many believed should be apprehended and interrogated for his demands regarding opposition members in Osun State.
Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai, according to the senior special adviser to Waziri Atiku Abubakar was merely being persecuted for parting ways politically with the APC administration.
“Former governor of Kaduna State and Chieftain of the ADC, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai has spent 178 days in detention for parting ways politically with APC while Senator Francis Fadahunsi is walking freely and yet-to-be arrested after calling on members of his own party to kill members of the Accord……” He wrote.
His statements as expected, had triggered diverse reactions as many argued that the actions of former governor Nasiru El-Rufai deferred from the demands of Senator Francis Fadahunsi.
