One of the chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted after the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima said the statement that he made at the book launch of Mohammed Bello Adoke was not about the suspension of Rivers state governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Senator Shehu Sani’s comment was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Friday, July 11, 2025.

According to the statement that was shared on the official X handle of Bayo Onanuga, it was stated that the Vice President was only referencing the incident that happened under the administration of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan at the gathering.

Here is what Onanuga wrote on his official X handle;

“His remarks were historical references to events during the Jonathan administration and were intended as a discourse on Nigeria’s constitutional evolution”.

However, Senator Shehu Sani has now shared his thoughts after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he said when people utter a proverb or phrase, they can’t control the meaning.

Here is what Senator Shehu Sani wrote on his official X handle;

“When you speak in tongues, utter a phrase or a proverb, you can’t control its interpretation or misinterpretation. My brother, the VP should know this rule better”.
