Veteran Nigerian musician John Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy Showkey, has revealed how suspected assassins once invaded his home in an attempt to kill him.
Speaking during an interview from 44:52 with The Podcast Network, on August 7, 2026, Daddy Showkey said he had earlier instructed that all his cars be taken for servicing. He drove the last car out of his compound shortly before the attackers arrived.
According to him, the suspected assassins entered his home and saw one of his workers, who was a big man. They allegedly mistook him for a bouncer and shot him in the chest.
Daddy Showkey said he was later informed about the incident and ordered that the injured worker be rushed to the hospital. Sadly, the man reportedly died while receiving treatment.
Recalling the incident, he said: “They saw one of my boys there. That my boy is big, so they thought that he was my bouncer and they shot him in the chest.”
The musician described the incident as a disturbing experience.
