The discovery of a potentially harmful object concealed within his wife’s bra has prompted former Niger State Commissioner of Science and Technology Abubakar Katcha to express his concerns. Katcha reportedly told Punch that in October 2023, his wife went shopping for baby naming ceremony props at Minna’s Kure market.

She reportedly also purchased a bra without realising it had an uncommon ingredient, according to him. “She also decided to buy a brazzier when she got there,” he added. The brazzier she purchased had a radioactive material put into it, and she had no idea. Katcha said that his wife began wearing the bra after the wedding and subsequently experienced breast enlargement.

They went to a pharmacy in Minna, where she was told to pump milk into bottles and given pricey medication, when their baby stopped sucking milk, he said. After a period of improvement, the infant was able to begin feedings, according to him. Katcha revealed that his wife discovered some peculiar objects concealed within the bra on May 18, 2025, while washing it. He said she took everything out and gave it to him.

After looking it over, he discovered a small battery and something else that, when combined, released a lot of radiation, he said. Radiation, he said, might cause cancer, and they were on either side of the bra. He explained that she began to experience breast swelling and brownish discharge after beginning to wear the brazzier following the naming ceremony. A nipple-level object was involved.
