Veteran Nollywood actress, Jumoke George, has shared the heartbreaking details of her ongoing search for her firstborn daughter, Deola, who has been missing for four years.

Speaking during an interview on TalkToB podcast, hosted by fellow actress Abiola Adebayo, George, opened up about the anguish she has endured following the last phone call from her daughter, a call that has haunted her since.

Deola, who was living with George’s mother in Ibadan, had been working and planning a visit to Lagos when the family lost contact with her. George received a phone call from her daughter, but it wasn’t the usual joyful conversation.

Deola, crying, begged her mother’s forgiveness, and hinted that her life was in danger. She mentioned traveling abroad with friends in search of better opportunities, only for things to take a dark turn. The final words from Deola were chilling, with her expressing fear that this could be the end for her.

Since that call, George has not heard from her daughter, and her disappearance has left a hole in her heart. She speculates that her daughter may have fallen victim to human trafficking or been forced into prostitution in another country, but without concrete answers, George has been left in a state of limbo.

In the years following Deola’s disappearance, George has exhausted all her resources trying to locate her, spending any money she earned in an attempt to track down her daughter.

She said: “One day, my mum called to say that Deola was coming to visit me in Lagos, but I told her Deola hadn’t arrived. Later, Deola called me using a strange number. She was crying and begging on the phone, saying, ‘Mummy, please forgive me for everything I’ve done to you. This might be the end for me.’ She told me she had traveled to another country with her friends in search of greener pastures, but things weren’t as she had been told. Since that call, I haven’t heard from her again. I don’t know if she was trafficked or forced into prostitution in another country.
