Samaila Kaigama, President of the Borno South Youth Alliance, has revealed that the first video recorded by the Ngoshe bandits after abducting hundreds of women and children was rejected because it did not meet expectations.
According to him, the kidnappers were asked to produce another recording, which later became the video that was eventually seen by the public.
Speaking during an interview from 5:57 on Channels Television on Tuesday, 21 July, 2026, Kaigama recounted some of the events surrounding the mass abduction in Ngoshe, Borno State, where about 460 women and children were kidnapped by bandits. He explained that the videos formed part of the communication between those negotiating for the victims’ release and the abductors, providing proof that the captives were alive.
Describing how the recordings emerged, Kaigama said, “One thing Nigerians don’t know is they made the first video. The first video was not good enough and I had to tell them to make another and at the end of the day, they made the second video and the world got to see.”
