Ann Kio Briggs, a member of PANDEF, has reacted to the statement made by former Governor Nyesom Wike, who said he would be willing to forgive suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara if Fubara asks for forgiveness. It is common knowledge that Nyesom Wike and Siminalayi Fubara have been engaged in a protracted political conflict in Rivers State.

However, speaking in a video shared by Arise TV from 14:26, Briggs questioned why Fubara would need to seek forgiveness and said there was no clear reason for it. Briggs made it clear that, in her view, Fubara is not the cause of the political conflict in Rivers State.

In Briggs words: “To be quite honest I don’t understand that Fubara should ask for forgiveness on what ground and for what reason? To God or to who, forgiveness of what? In our opinion Fubara is far from being the problem”
