Chief Tola Adeniyi, columnist, and author, has stated that he is not afraid of death but he is afraid of kidnappers.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Edmund Obilo on his popular show, Adeniyi said that what scares him is not dying but the idea of being held captive by young, unkempt hooligans who have no regard for human dignity. He said that being tortured and humiliated by such people is something he cannot tolerate.
Adeniyi disclosed that he has a deep hatred for humiliation. He said that if someone wants to kill him, they should just do it, but he cannot stand being degraded or treated without respect.
In Adeniyi’s words: “I am not scared of death but I am scared of kidnappers because it is saddening when 16 or 17-year-old unwashed and unkempt hooligans keep you captive and they torture you and humiliate you. I detest humiliation. If you want to kill me just kill me. I am not afraid of death at all. I wrote in one of my poems when I was younger that I don’t believe in death, people don’t die. They continue in the continuum”
