The Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, Austin Grimah, has spoken about the arrest of Mathias Amunde who killed his mother, Justina Amunde. Mathias initially reported to the police that his mother was missing after attending a night vigil.
However, the police found out that Mathias, with the help of his friends, killed his 50-year-old mother for money ritual purpose and dumped her body in a well.
In a video recently shared by NTA from 1:12, Austin revealed that when Mathias was questioned, he admitted to the crime. He further explained that Mathias confessed he was influenced by a friend who convinced him that using his mother’s head in a ritual would bring him wealth.
In Austin’s words: “I asked him is it true that you murdered somebody and he said yes. I asked him who did you murder and he said his mother. I asked him for what reason? He said the person standing beside him was the one that told him that if he wants to make money he should bring the head of his mother”
