The chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Rivers state, Tony Okocha has stated that he went to meet the 27 PDP lawmakers to join their party but they refused.
This statement was contained in a viral video that was posted on the official X handle of NEWS CENTRAL TV on Thursday from 0.45.
He made the statement while debunking the allegations that the 27 PDP lawmakers defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
In the viral video that surfaced online, Tony Okocha stated that he met the lawmakers individually and collectively, yet they refused to join. He said for anyone to be a member of an organization, the person must register in the organization.
Here is what Tony Okocha said;
“I went to them individually and collectively, and they refused to join our party. You have to be a registered member of an organisation for you to be a member of that organisation. They are members of the Peoples Democratic Party, they didn’t cross over”.
