One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted after the National Association Of Nigerian Students, NANS, threatened nationwide protest over the appointment of Eric Chelle as Super Eagles coach.
According to SAHARA REPORTERS, NANS has demanded the immediate reversal of Eric Sekou Chelle’s appointment as the head coach of the Super Eagles.
The report further stated that NANS staged a protest at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday, describing the decision as a disservice to Nigerian football.
However, Senator Shehu Sani has now reacted after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he said what the country needs now is any coach who can lead the Super Eagles to victory. He said it doesn’t matter whether the coach is a Nigerian or a foreigner.
Here is what Senator Shehu Sani wrote on his page;
“Any coach who will deliver the Super Eagles to victory is what we need now; whether he is Nigerian or foreigner, black or white. We have tried all sorts of coaches and our ranking in the football world keeps falling. I don’t know why NANS are protesting against the new coach”.
