Sunday Dare, who serves as the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, has taken to X (which was formerly known as Twitter) in order to criticise Peter Obi, who was a former presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), for his recent statement regarding the stampedes that resulted in the deaths of people in the states of Oyo and Anambra.

According to a tweet that was made on the official X account of Sunday Dare, the spokesperson for the President said that Peter Obi’s comment that the tragedies are preventable is lacking in both statesmanship and decency.

Sunday Dare had said, “If you are looking for someone who benefits from the misfortune of others or from confusion, which the Yoruba people refer to as ‘Aríje nínú Màdàrú,’ then you need not look any further than Peter Obi.” In spite of the fact that he is now wallowing in the waning seas of his much-vaunted electoral success, his recent statements addressing the tragedies that might have been avoided in the states of Anambra and Oyo are devoid of statesmanship and decency. This effort to earn political points at a low cost is totally unsuccessful.
