In a video posted on Symfoni TV From 6:40, the National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu addressed recent political developments in River State.
He recounted how a political conflict arose from a misjudged situation, leading to efforts to rectify the issue.
Nwanyanwu highlighted his party’s interest in securing some of the vacant seats in the upcoming election and cautioned Governor Fubara against appointing non-Assembly members to appropriation roles.
He warned that such actions would provoke legal challenges from the ZLP.
According to Dan Nwanyanwu, “So it was at that point they discovered that they goofed. They started running around to find a way to it. They (27 Lawmakers) thought it was a fight between them and Governor Fubara. We, political parties, are waiting. Somebody asked, “What is Chief Wike’s locus talking about Rivers?” I said that was an idiotic statement.
I have locus. My party—any political party is interested in grabbing some seats in those vacant seats in an election. So don’t ask that question. It’s not a private matter. And we have told Governor Fubara: don’t attempt it—taking that appropriation to people who are not members of the State Assembly. If you do it, we start our own case against you as governor.”
