However, in this content, I will be sharing with you some popular Nigerian actors/actresses who turned politician

1. Famous Nigerian actress and movie producer, Funke Akindele is one of the Nigerian actresses that have ventured into politics.

Comic actress and media personality got lots of mixed reactions from her fans when she was announced the PDP’s deputy governorship candidate of Lagos State. Since her appointment, she has engaged in different political activities including campaigns.

2. Tonto Dikeh, is also vying for a political position ahead of 2023. She is the running mate of Mr Tonte Ibraye ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Rivers State.

3. Desmond Elliot, Nollywood star and movie director put his acting career on hold in 2014 to pursue his interest in politics.

The veteran actor contested and was elected as a lawmaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Surulere Constituency, on the 11th of April 2015. He retained the office in the 2019 general election.

4. Olubankole Wellington popularly known Banky W, is a Nigerian actor, musician, and husband to actress Adesua Etomi. He ventured into the political space to lead his constituency Eti-Osa, on November 11, 2018.

Famous Nigerian singer and record producer, Banky W is one of the celebrities that has ventured into politics. He announced via his Instagram handler his interest of running for a political post in the coming election.

It may interest you know the award winning singer contested and won the Eti-Osa federal constituency primary ticket under the People’s Democratic Party ahead of the 2023 elections.

5. Nollywood actor, Olumide Oworu has followed in the footstep of his senior colleagues as he unveils his political ambition.

The actor who is famous for his role as ‘Tari Johnson’ in the Africa Magic Series ‘The Johnsons’ took to his Instagram page to announce his candidacy for Membership of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Surulere Constituency 1 under the Labour Party….S££ MOR£
