In a strongly-worded statement on his verified Twitter account, Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz condemned the recent fìring of light bòmbs at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence, describing it as a grave escalation and a breach of all acceptable boundaries.
“This act crosses all red lines,” Katz wrote, emphasizing the unprecedented nature of such threats coming from within Israel. He noted the gravity of the situation, especially as Netanyahu already faces significant external threats from Iran and its proxies, who have reportedly targeted the Prime Minister for assassination.
Katz stressed that it is unacceptable for Netanyahu, a symbol of Israel’s leadership, to face the same level of danger domestically as he does from external adversaries. He called on Israel’s security apparatus, including the Shin Bet, the Israel Police, and judicial authorities, to take immediate and decisive action to address the situation.
“The Shin Bet and the Israel Police and all law enforcement and judicial agencies must immediately and with all their strength take the necessary steps to put an end to this serious phenomenon,” Katz asserted, urging a swift resolution to ensure the safety and security of the Prime Minister.
The incident has sparked widespread concern across Israel, with many questioning the motives behind the attack and its implications for national stability. Netanyahu’s residence has often been the site of protests and demonstrations, particularly amid controversies surrounding his government’s policies. However, the use of light bombs marks a new and alarming level of escalation.
