According to a report by the Daily Trust News on Monday, November 17, 2025, Malam Musa Yusuf, a resident of the Fegin Baza village, revealed that the bandits did not come close to their village until around 10am. He said they came in large numbers and started shooting.
Yusuf said they were informed about the bandits’ plan to attack their village, so they mobilised local vigilante members and patrolled the village at night. The bandits arrived around 10am, shooting into the air. He said they were lucky, as their people were prepared.
He said, “The bandits did not come until Saturday around 10am; they came in large numbers and started shooting into the air.”
He said the bandits were unable to gain access to the village. He explained that after realising they couldn’t overpower the villagers, they shifted their focus and blocked the Gusau-Funtua Highway, operating there for a few minutes. It was during this operation that Hon. Moriki was killed. View, More,
