According to DAILY POST, prominent broadcaster Yeni Kuti and Segun Sowunmi, a key figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), recently had a heated exchange during a live television appearance following Sowunmi’s visit to President Bola Tinubu.

The controversy began after Sowunmi, a former spokesperson for PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and a known critic of President Tinubu, was seen visiting the president at his Lagos residence over the weekend.

The visit triggered widespread online backlash and speculation about his political intentions.

During a recent episode of TVC’s Your View, Sowunmi was questioned about the visit and was asked directly if he intended to switch allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Yeni Kuti, one of the show’s hosts, pressed him on whether his position had shifted since meeting the president.

Kuti said “You’ve had a lot of criticism for the president, now your tune seems to have changed (after visit). So when is your own move? When are you leaving the PDP to join APC?”

In response, Sowunmi objected to the line of questioning, accusing the host of being sarcastic and expressing his displeasure at the tone of the exchange.

Kuti countered by asserting her seniority, prompting Sowunmi to quickly backtrack and offer an apology.

Despite the apology, Kuti firmly maintained her stance, distancing herself from any familial terms used during the tense moment.
