In a video recently shared by Silverbird TV from 3:22, there was unexpected drama involving the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy at a recent even in Abuja. The event, a workshop organized by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs in collaboration with the United Nations, was meant to review and validate certain programs. However, things took a sharp turn when the Minister interrupted the proceedings, expressing her dissatisfaction.
Uju said the event, which had a budget of over 100 million naira, did not focus enough on actually helping women. She argued that a significant portion of the money should have been used to empower women directly, instead of being spent solely on organizing the event. She warned that if this happened again, she would disgrace the organizers and herself
In Uju’s words: “You can’t use 100 million naira to do program. My people that is the fact, I am not lying. Over 100 million naira is used for programs and I said always cut it into two. Use half and empower the women then use half to do whatever you want to do. Let it not be that I am coming here to block everybody. If it happens again, I will disgrace them and disgrace myself. I am not going to disgrace them alone, I will disgrace them and disgrace myself and there will be no program. Anywhere I hear it even if I am not invited I will come there”….Vïêw–Môrê
