Tonye Cole, who previously ran for governor under the All Progressive Congress (APC) banner in Rivers State, has shared his perspective on Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s political situation during a recent Arise TV interview from 5:18.
Cole emphasized the practical constraints facing the current administration, stating that Governor Fubara has limited options in the present circumstances. “First and foremost, I don’t think he has much of a choice,” Cole said during the interview. “You cannot be in government, run a government, and you don’t have a budget, you don’t have an assembly, you don’t have a cabinet. It’s impossible. And so, if you’re going to be a governor, these things are necessary, so you have to do it.”
The former gubernatorial candidate’s comments highlight the fundamental challenges of governing without key administrative structures in place, suggesting that practical necessities might compel the current administration to make certain political moves.
