Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Musa Christopher shared his concerns about rising insecurity in Nigeria. He remembered a time when traveling at night was safe and easy, showing just how much things have changed.
In a recent video covered by VOICE TV NIGERIA from 10:03, He said that everyone should think about how we got to this point of insecurity. He pointed out that the problem isn’t just one person’s fault; it reflects a failure that affects us all. He stressed that everyone needs to take responsibility for the current situation.
Musa emphasized that coming together is important to face the serious threats Nigeria is dealing with. He believes that safety isn’t just the job of the military or the government; all Nigerians should help make their communities safe. He encouraged people to get involved.
He is confident that by working together, Nigerians can build a safer and more stable future.
He said,
“Now the question we ask ourselves, how did we get to where we are? Remember I’m some years back even as junior officers, when we want to travel we travel at night because we have nothing to be afraid of. How did we allow ourselves to where we are? It’s a collective responsibility; it’s not just a matter of pointing fingers at others. We all went to sleep together when things started falling until where we are today. If we want it to stop then we have to walk back to how it’s supposed to be.”
