United States Senator Lindsey Graham has publicly expressed full support for Israel’s latest military operations targeting Hamas in Gaza, emphasizing that peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved without the militant group’s complete disarmament and removal from power.

In a statement posted on his verified Twitter account, Graham dismissed what he described as “fantasy notions” that Hamas would voluntarily disarm or that an international force could successfully enforce disarmament in the Gaza Strip. According to him, such proposals are unrealistic and would fail to secure lasting peace in the region.

“The idea that Hamas will voluntarily disarm is a fantasy,” Graham stated. “Without Hamas being disarmed and removed from power permanently, there will be no pathway to stability and peace in the Middle East.”

The South Carolina senator further accused Hamas of killing its political opposition and consolidating control within Gaza, actions he said continue to endanger regional security and frustrate international peace efforts.

Graham’s remarks come amid renewed Israeli military operations in Gaza, following a series of attacks that Tel Aviv has attributed to Hamas fighters. His comments reflect long-standing U.S. support among conservative lawmakers for Israel’s right to self-defense against groups designated as terrorist organizations by both Washington and the European Union.

“If Israel believes it is necessary to reengage Hamas militarily, so be it. They have my complete backing,” Graham declared.

The senator’s statement underscores the continuing divide in U.S. political circles over the handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. While some American lawmakers have urged restraint and humanitarian consideration, Graham reiterated his stance that any peace effort that leaves Hamas in power is bound to fail. View, More,
