Abdullahi Ibrahim, the PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, has criticized the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for holding on to his grudge against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In an interview with Arise News Television from 7:59, Ibrahim acknowledged that Wike had a valid reason to disagree with the PDP’s zoning formula during the 2023 elections.
He further revealed that he had supported Wike on some of the issues he raised against the party in the past but no longer approves of his insistence on dictating the internal affairs of the PDP.
Ibrahim stressed the importance of distinguishing between Wike’s genuine concerns and his attempt to exert control over the party’s activities.
He said: “I have spoken for him more than any other person in this party, justifying his actions in disagreeing with the zoning formula in 2023. I have equally agreed with him in some of the fights and battles he has led so far but there is a time for a responsible person to draw the line.”
Furthermore, Ibrahim accused Wike of making the PDP a laughingstock in public by attempting to singlehandedly control the party’s affairs. He expressed shock at the audacity of the FCT Minister to even issue conditions for the party’s upcoming national convention to hold.
His words: “Why are you coming up with six conditions, you are giving PDP six conditions and everybody is laughing at us in this country, by an individual who is under the payroll of the APC. Enough is enough, we have to draw a line. He cannot do it any further.”
