Hon. Sylvanus has called on the Ijaw Nation to resist what he describes as a public insult by former Rivers State Governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

In a video posted by Viable TV, Sylvanus issued a strong call to action, urging Ijaw sons and daughters to rise against the perceived disrespect.

“Ijaw Nation is the fourth largest of the eight nationalities in this country. And somebody will come to the public and talk to us and insult us that way? No, we cannot continue like this,” he declared passionately.

“Every son and daughter of Ijaw Nation should rise up. We will not take it, we will resist it. We will challenge it even with the last drop of our blood.”

Though Sylvanus did not specify the exact statement made by Wike, his words suggest growing resentment within the Ijaw community, particularly concerning their treatment by political figures who have benefited from their support in the past.

His speech underscores the long-standing political and economic grievances of the Ijaw people, a key ethnic group in Nigeria’s oil-rich Niger Delta region.

Sylvanus’ remarks may signal escalating tensions between the Ijaw people and Wike, who has been a dominant political figure in the region.

As the video continues to generate reactions, political observers are keenly watching whether Wike or his allies will respond, and how the situation will unfold in the coming days.
