Emmanuel Ogidi, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-South Zonal Working Committee, has expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu. Ogidi questioned Anyanwu’s fitness for his role with Wike and suggested that his divisive approach is part of the reason the southeast is distancing itself from him.
Speaking during an interview with Arise Television, Ogidi criticised Anyanwu for acting in a manner unbefitting of a national party officer. He noted that as National Secretary, Anyanwu is expected to act in the interest of the entire party, not just a faction.
According to him, “If he’s the national secretary, why is he misbehaving? Is that how a national secretary should behave? A national secretary represents the party, not the section. Wike is just a section; he’s not fit; I’m sure this is why the southeast doesn’t want him anymore. Look, you see, there are principal officers in the party. First, the main organ that runs the party is the NWC, and in there too, you have the chairman and, of course, the secretary and other members. “You’re supposed to manage the party, not section.”
