Chief Anabs Sara Igbe, a member of the Rivers Elders Council, has expressed concerns about how former Governor Nyesom Wike handled the resources of Rivers State when he was governor.
In a live coverage by Symfoni TV from 8:46, Igbe said Wike gave away over 1 billion naira from Rivers State’s funds. He questioned how much money Wike might have kept for himself if he was able to give away such a large amount of money. He alleged that Wike did not declare the true internally generated revenue (IGR) of the state and awarded contracts without following proper procedures.
In Igbe’s words: “Wike has amassed so much wealth. Here is a man who can dash a state over 1bn of Rivers State money resources. If he can dash somebody over 1 billion, how much will he keep aside?”
