The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that he has no regrets about his tough political decisions, even though they may have upset some people. He made this clear while speaking to journalists in Abuja about his recent clash with a naval officer over a piece of land in the Gaduwa area of the city.

According to a report by Nigerian Tribune on Thursday, November 13, 2025, Wike explained that the disputed land had no valid documents proving military ownership, stressing that he would not allow lawlessness or misuse of power in the FCT. He said that even government officials must follow due process, and that impunity would not be tolerated under his leadership.

He admitted that his firm decisions have angered some individuals but said he remains focused on doing what is right for the capital city and for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Wike also praised some respected leaders, including former presidents and retired generals, for handling land matters through proper channels instead of using force. He said they always reached out politely to resolve issues rather than sending soldiers or officials to seize land.

The minister added that his main goal is to bring discipline, order, and development to Abuja. He said that no nation can grow if people, especially those in power, continue to act above the law.
