A media aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has disputed allegations linking the minister’s son to a company that reportedly received substantial land allocations in Abuja.

Lere Olayinka addressed the controversy during an interview with Arise TV from 9:34, challenging claims that Joaq Farm Nigeria Limited belongs to Joaquin Wike, the minister’s son. “There were two publications. One came up and said the minister allocated land to Joaq Farm Nigeria Limited, and in the story it was mentioned that the land was allocated to one of the sons of the minister by name Joaquin. Because you have a child whose name is Joaquin, does Joaq farm now automatically belong to Joaquin?” Olayinka questioned.

The media aide also disputed the scale of alleged land allocations, arguing that the reported figures exceed the physical capacity of prime Abuja districts. “And that publication also said that 2080 hectares of land were allocated to that minister’s son in Asokoro and Maitama. The entire Asokoro and Maitama put together is not up to those 2,000 hectares,” he stated.

However, multiple reports have detailed extensive land allocations to companies bearing names similar to the minister’s sons. According to these reports, Joaq Farms and Estates Ltd received 350 hectares within a week of registration, while Jordan Farms and Estates Ltd owned by Joaquin’s elder brother was allocated 12 hectares in Maitama approximately six weeks after registration.

One investigation claimed that 23-year-old Joaquin Wike received at least 2,082 hectares worth $3.6 billion between October 2024 and May 2025. Town planning officials allegedly reported that Wike allocated no less than 3,822 hectares across the FCT between his two sons, potentially worth $6.45 billion, with certificates of occupancy significantly increasing the value.

Despite these allegations, the FCT Minister has consistently denied the claims through his spokesman, describing it as merely coincidental that Jordan and Joaquin Wike appear on asset documents.
