Yunusa Tanko, one of the members of the Obidient Movement and aide to former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi, has explained the reason why Obi refused to sue popular media organization, Peoples Gazette following the release of “Yes Daddy” audio.

Yunusa Tanko’s statement was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Yunusa Tanko spoke about the issue after the former governor of Anambra state was criticized for asking human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju to retract some statements that he made against him.

In the post that surfaced online, Yunusa Tanko said Peter Obi refused to sue Peoples Gazette because he chose not to waste years in court. He said the fact that the former governor of Anambra state decided not to take legal action does not mean that he’s guilty.

“Regarding the “Yes Daddy” audio, Peter Obi, like any responsible leader, reserved his legal options. Choosing not to waste years in court does not equate to guilt. It is simply strategy”.
