According to a video that was posted on the official X account of Channels TV on Tuesday FROM 0.50, a chieftain of the Labour Party, LP in Edo state, Sergius Ogun has explained why he worked against the candidate of his party, Olumide Akpata in the Edo state gubernatorial election.
Sergius Ogun stated that he didn’t work for Olumide Akpata in the election because he is from the same local government with the current governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki.
According to Sergius Ogun;
“Olumide Akpata is a brother and a friend but he’s from the same local government with the present governor, Godwin Obaseki. We had agreed in Edo state that there should be zoning. Like I said, the reason why I worked against PDP in the presidential election was because a Fulani man can not succeed another Fulani man. This is the same thing that happened in Labour Party. Obaseki is from Oredo Local Government and Olumide Akpata is also from Oredo Local Government. That is no right. For me, I vote for individuals”.
