A Nigerian woman, Helen Loveth, who previously testified at Evangelist Ebuka Obi’s Zion Ministry about acquiring a N500 million mansion, has admitted to fabricating the claim and explained her reasons for doing so.
Loveth had initially attributed the purchase of the luxurious five-bedroom property to divine intervention. However, her story unraveled over the weekend when she was seen selling drinks in Enugu. A video of people confronting her about the false testimony went viral, sparking widespread criticism on social media. In response to the controversy, Prophet Ebuka Obi publicly disassociated himself from Loveth, emphasizing that he had no prior knowledge of her claims.
During questioning, the visibly distressed woman clarified that her testimony was an expression of faith rather than a factual account. She explained that she was in the process of negotiating to purchase the house but had not yet acquired it.
After being detained by the police, Loveth confessed, saying, “I did not build the house. We are still in the process of buying it. I have inspected it, and the agent asked us to meet with the landlord. It is not mine yet.” She further admitted that she does not currently own any property and revealed plans to pay for the house in installments.
When pressed for additional details, including the address of the property, Loveth was unable to provide concrete information. She reiterated that she had not finalized any purchase and stated, “I don’t own it yet. I wanted to pay in installments.”
The incident has drawn significant attention online, with many questioning the motivations behind such exaggerated testimonies and their impact on religious gatherings. Prophet Ebuka Obi’s swift disassociation from Loveth underscores his ministry’s stance on authenticity and transparency in testimonies shared during services.
