Chief Dele Momodu, founder of Ovation Magazine and former Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has remembered his late father following the completion of the monumental project that caught public attention. However, according to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he disclosed how he was unable to speak his native language as a result of his father’s refusal to identify him with his roots.
Many were left stunned after the former Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party and Elderstateman, Chief Dele Momodu completed a monumental project that took him over 50 years. However, the project evoked long buried memories.
An X user identified as Seun quizzed the seasoned journalist on why he was unable to speak his local Edo language which he made a shocking revelation. According to his reply, he blamed his late father for his inability to identify him with his roots.
In the statements which were shared on his official X handle and had garnered widespread traction across various social media platforms, the former PDP Chieftain disclosed that his late father died while he was barely thirteen years of age.
However, according to Chief Dele Momodu, the event informed his determination to complete the monumental project that took over fifty years to complete. It can be recalled that the Elderstateman had built a country home in Owan West local government area of Edo State.
“Unfortunately…Our Daddy didn’t take us home and he died in 1973, while I was barely 13 years old….The reason I was determined to do this project against all odds……” He wrote.
