Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the General Overseer of Christ Embassy has voiced his deep concern over doctrinal issues within the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches.

Speaking in a recent YouTube video, the Loveworld leader emphasized that his concerns are rooted in the presence of large Christian populations within these denominations.

“Why are we concerned about the Catholic Church?” he asked. “Because there are many, many who are in that denomination. There are many people who identify as Christians in the Roman Catholic Church.”

He expressed a similar concern about the Anglican Church, particularly regarding the beliefs held by some of its senior clergy. “I’ve been concerned about the Anglican Church, especially when I found out that some of the archbishops didn’t believe in either the resurrection or the virgin birth,” he revealed. “That’s completely a huge problem.”

According to Pastor Chris, belief in the virgin birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ is fundamental to Christian faith. Without these core doctrines, he said, one cannot rightly claim to be a Christian.

Despite his theological disagreements, Pastor Chris maintains a spirit of unity among Christian groups. “We pray for one another as God’s people,” he said, affirming the need for inter-denominational support and understanding.

His remarks serve as a call for doctrinal clarity and fidelity to biblical truths across all Christian denominations. He stressed that the centrality of Christ’s resurrection should never be compromised, regardless of tradition or hierarchy.

Pastor Chris also used the opportunity to congratulate Roman Catholics on the election of Pope Leo XIV, urging believers to pray for their leaders and remain steadfast in their faith.

His candid comments reflect his long-standing commitment to upholding the authority of Scripture and challenging religious institutions to remain aligned with biblical foundations.
