Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued defiant statements on social media platform X, challenging America’s extensive military footprint across West Asia and declaring that Iran will not bow to external pressure.
“Why has the US established all these military bases in various countries throughout West Asia? What are you doing here? What does this region have to do with you?” Khamenei wrote in a pointed message questioning Washington’s strategic presence across multiple Middle Eastern nations.
In a follow-up post, the Iranian leader emphasized his country’s resistance to intimidation, stating: “Coercion may be effective when used against certain nations, but it will never be effective against the Iranian nation, by the Grace of God.”
The United States maintains hundreds of military bases spread across the West Asia region, from Bahrain to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, and beyond.
According to recent estimates, approximately 40,000 US service members are stationed in the wider region, including those on ships like aircraft carriers and destroyers in regional waters.
These bases serve various strategic purposes, including controlling the global flow of oil, maintaining influence over critical choke points, and supporting regional operations.
Khamenei’s remarks come amid heightened tensions following recent military escalations in the region.
In his televised remarks, he said that Iran would not surrender despite US President Donald Trump’s calls, adding that the Islamic Republic has access to important American centers in the region and can take action against them whenever it deems necessary..
The Supreme Leader has warned that Iran would respond to any further US attacks by targeting American military bases in the Middle East.
Military analysts note that Iran has already demonstrated its military capability, particularly its missile precision, and hundreds of Iranian missiles successfully bypassed defense systems during previous operations. See, More, Here>>>
