In a recent statement via his official X account, Demola Olarewaju, Special Assistant on Digital Media and Strategy to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has reacted to the ongoing controversy surrounding Dele Farotimi’s book.

“Those who encouraged Baba Afe to “teach that boy a lesson” for their own selfish political reasons have done the man a disservice.

Every step in this journey of official highhandedness has reiterated the point made by Farotimi and popularised the accusation,” Olarewaju wrote.

The book, which accuses him of corrupt influence on the Nigerian judiciary, has become the number one bestseller on Amazon worldwide.

Farotimi, however, was recently arrested for defamation over comments made in the book.

The book’s success has brought global attention to the issues it highlights.

Farotimi’s supporters argue that the arrest validates his claims and exposes flaws in the judicial system and sees him as a brave whistleblower confronting powerful figures.
