In a sermon titled “Dimensions of Praise and Worship” at the Power Communion (Midweek) Service, Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche, founder and senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Center, shared a deeply personal revelation.

In the sermon video from 1 hour 20 minutes, He recounted the skepticism and criticism he faced during his medical school years for choosing to follow his divine calling over a conventional medical career.

Dr. Enenche explained how both students and lecturers questioned his decision. “When we followed God, those in medical school said we were wasting our lives,” he said.

He recalled a particularly enraged lecturer who criticized him, saying, “If you want to carry the Bible, now you are talking of preaching. Why don’t you go and do it after secondary school? Why should you? After they have trained you to become a medical doctor then you say you want to become a pastor. Is that not a waste?”

The criticism was widespread, with many expressing disbelief and pity. “People pitied us! When we came to ministry, some pitied, so much! Some pitied us! Which one is this small boy? This small girl?” Dr. Enenche shared, emphasizing the skepticism they faced.

He also recounted how a woman refused to attend Dunamis, dismissing it as a “small boy’s Church.” Ironically, she later came seeking prayer for affliction.

Despite the criticism, Dr. Enenche’s unwavering faith and commitment to his calling have led to the remarkable growth of Dunamis International Gospel Center. His story underscores the theme of his sermon—praise and worship in the face of adversity. Citing Psalms 28:7, 40:2-3, and 69:30, he highlighted the importance of songs of praise as an integral part of worship…..Sée Móre
