Hakeem Baba Ahmed, former Special Adviser to President Tinubu, has reacted to a comment Tinubu made during a visit to Benue State. Ahmed said Tinubu told the Governor of Benue that people hate him deeply but he is still the president of Nigeria

In an interview with Political Advantage Platform from 38:03, Ahmed said if Tinubu truly feels that many Nigerians now dislike him, then it is important to ask why. He said Nigerians did not hate Tinubu when he took office on May 29, 2023. He said many Nigerians voted for him and believed in his plans for the country.

Ahmed said President Tinubu still has time to win back the trust and support of Nigerians by solving the security and economic problems in the country

In Ahmed’s words: “When he went to Benue he told the governor there and then in public, he said ‘They hate me like hell, but I am the president’. That is a statement that he should take seriously, he made it himself. If Nigerians hate you like hell there must be a reason. Why don’t you do something about it?”
