According to a Saturday 28th of June, 2025, report by Iran International English, in a fiery speech broadcast on Iranian state television, Mohammad-Reza Naghdi, deputy commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has ridiculed the military posturing of both the United States (U.S.) and Israel, taking direct aim at their leaders.

Naghdi criticized what he described as U.S. arrogance, mocking statements made by American leadership regarding advanced military capabilities. “The foolish president of America brags like a charlatan, saying, ‘I have B-2 bombers,’” Naghdi said, referencing recent comments perceived as a display of U.S. military might. “When the time comes, we’ll show you what we’ll do to your B-2s.”

The remarks come amid escalating tensions between Iran and the West, particularly over Iran’s nuclear programme and regional influence. Naghdi’s statements reflect the IRGC’s long-standing defiance in the face of foreign pressure and its resistance to Western military threats.

Turning to Israel, Naghdi also targeted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, questioning his reliance on military tactics due to his background in Israeli special forces. “Because Netanyahu once served as a commando, he believes he can resolve everything through commando-style operations,” he said.

The IRGC commander dismissed such strategies as naïve and ineffective against the Islamic Republic. “He’s so childish he thinks commandos can bring about regime change in Iran,” Naghdi added, ridiculing the notion that military force could destabilize the Iranian government.

The comments reflect a broader rhetorical campaign by Iranian officials aimed at projecting strength and deterring potential military action. While tensions remain high, especially as regional conflicts and nuclear negotiations hang in the balance, Iran’s military leadership continues to signal that it is prepared to confront any perceived aggression.
