Residents of Omogo community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have been thrown into anxiety following an attack by suspected bandits on a church, where eight worshippers were reportedly taken away.

In recent video from 2:52, The incident occurred at the Evangelical Church Winning All during a gathering, leaving the community unsettled and fearful about safety in the area.

The attack added to growing concerns about insecurity across different parts of the country, where cases of abduction and violent incursions have continued to affect communities.

People in the area have become increasingly worried about their vulnerability, especially during social and religious gatherings where large numbers of individuals are present.

Efforts by the federal authorities to address the situation have been ongoing, with directives issued to security agencies to intensify operations.

The president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had recently instructed the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and other relevant agencies to adopt improved measures aimed at tackling the persistent security challenges facing the nation.

Despite these directives, incidents like the one in Omogo have continued to occur, raising questions about the effectiveness of current approaches.

The attack on the church has further heightened concerns among residents, who now live in fear of possible repeat incidents and are calling for stronger security presence in their locality.

An eyewitness account provided insight into how the incident unfolded, describing a sudden disruption during the church activity.

According to the account, worshippers were engaged in prayers and singing when individuals suspected to be bandits approached the premises, causing panic among those present.

 

The witness explained that the attackers were noticed from a distance, wearing green masks and moving quickly towards the church.

The sudden appearance of the armed individuals created confusion and fear, as people struggled to understand what was happening before the situation escalated.

He said: “When they reached the cashew tree, and they could see that the child may be crying, because that woman is not child mother. That was how they collected the child from the back of the pastor’s wife, and they put the child down. Without even bothering, what will happen to the child. And they left.” Read_More…
