A female victim of sēxual abuse, in one of Lagos State secondary schools, has narrated her experience in the hands of Uncle Gbenga, her class teacher, whom she claimed tried to molest her, but he was unsuccessful.
While she was narrating her experience during an interview (Between 7-8 minute) with The Vanguard correspondent, the victim, who gave her name simply as Testimony said, “On the 20th of January this year, Mr Gbenga called me and said I should come and clean the staff room. When I go to the staff room he said I should open the door which I did then he said I should open the window. I was about to open the window when he pushed me to the window and started kîssing me. I was pushing him until an SS1 student entered, then he left me and I ran outside.”
Further talking, he said, “Then that same week on Thursday, I was coming from downstairs, I poured water on my head because I was having cramps. Then he saw me at the physics lab and he said I should come, and I went to meet him. When I got to him, he told me that my breast was showing but I didn’t react to the statement. Then he said I should come to his office after school. But I didn’t go alone, I went with two of my friends, so he changed whatever plans he had, and he started telling me about things we were having the next day. And since then, he didn’t see me again.
