Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has spoken about the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from the Senate. He said Nigerian law is clear on this issue. He said in more than 10 different cases the court ruled that suspending any lawmaker is illegal.

Speaking at an event covered by Sahara Reporters TV, Falana said that when Senate President Godswill Akpabio was told that Senator Natasha would win if she went to court to contest her suspension, Akpabio replied that the court case would take time.

Falana said that when a federal lawmaker is suspended, their constituents are left without representation in the National Assembly. Falana said, “The senate president when he was told if this lady (Natasha) goes to court she will win, he said “that will take time na, let her go to court”. You know that is the language in Nigeria”.
