During an interview from 9:25 on Trust TV, political analyst Bello Shagari shared a personal experience to highlight the complexities surrounding religious and minority concerns in Northern Nigeria.

Shagari said that understanding the perspectives of different communities often requires empathy and the willingness to see issues from their point of view. He explained that people sometimes speak out based on experiences that others may not fully grasp.

He recounted a conversation with a close friend who is a Northern Christian. Shagari said the friend once made a Facebook post that he believed could offend some Muslim northerners, prompting him to reach out and question the tone of the message.

However, his friend responded by pointing out the difficulties faced by minority communities in the region and questioned whether Shagari could truly understand their experiences.

Shagari said he eventually backed down after reflecting on the point his friend raised, acknowledging that people outside a particular experience may not always fully understand the challenges faced by others.
