Former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff has disclosed how he stays informed about the situation across Nigeria. Sheriff stated that even though he owns a plane, he often chooses to travel by road. He said he does this so he can personally observe what ordinary people are going through in different parts of the country.
In an interview with Channels Television, Sheriff said that by travelling this way, he hears the complaints of ordinary citizens. He said this gives him a better understanding of the real problems people face every day.
Sheriff also said that when he notices problems during these road trips, he informs President Bola Tinubu privately.
In Sheriff’s words: “What you don’t know is I travel across Nigeria by road, I have plane but I choose to drive by road to see the reactions of the common man, what is happening. Wherever there is a problem we try to advice and tell the president but that is not on television”
