The former governor of Rivers state and ex Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has revealed what he will do to the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project if he’s elected as the President of Nigeria.

His statement was contained in a report that was published on the official X handle of DAILY POST on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

This is coming after Rotimi Amaechi joined other opposition leaders to adopt the African Democratic Congress, ADC as coalition platform ahead of 2027 presidential election.

In the report that surfaced online, Rotimi Amaechi said if he’s elected as the President of Nigeria, he will abandon the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project.

Stating his reason, he said the project was initiated to steal public funds. The former governor of Rivers state also stated that electoral reforms will be his priority if he becomes President.

“I will abandon the coastal road. That road is for stealing. Electoral reforms are the lowest hanging fruits for me if I become President.
